Which is best IPPB PO or IBPS PO, Detailed Differences

Hi Aspirants, recently IPPB(Indian Postal Payment Banks) has released the notification for IPPB PO’s most of the students got confused between IBPS PO(Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) and IPPB PO. The Postal Payment bank has released notification for the first time so most of the aspirants are thinking like is IPPB PO better or IBPS PO better. Well, aspirants in this article I will list down the major differences between IPPB and IBPS.

IPPB is an emerging organization in India. Recently it has published the notification for the recruitment of  1700+ posts to recruit 650 assistant managers for various branches which will be established in the next year that is 2017. As this is the first time IPPB has released notification for PO’s with a pay scale of nearly 65000/- per month, most of the banking aspirants got confused between this and IBPS PO.

So here in this article, i am going to give you the 6 important differences between IPPB PO and an IBPS PO. Later you can decide which one to opt for.

IBPS belongs to Public Sector Unit(PSU) where as IPPB is purely belongs government. In IBPS you will be responsible for deposits in your bank in Current and Savings accounts(CASA) and also you are responsible for fixed deposits that will start from 100/-INR to 1 crore. An IBPS PO is responsible for selling third party products like mutual funds and insurance etc and the main thing is you are going to give personal loans up to huge amount. So for all these if someone is not paying loan or mutual funds you are responsible for them. You need to follow up with the borrower and get the back loan/ fund amount, so this is little stress part in IBPS.

In IPPB you are not going to give any loans or mutual funds and in case of savings and current accounts the amount will be limited to a sum of 1 Lakh only. So your life will be very happy and you don’t find much stress and pressure in IPPB when compared to IBPS PO.

Coming to Posting, First let us discuss about IBPS posting. Unless you are a girl or if you any some influence you need to forget your social life. You are going to posted in some rural areas where you will not find good infrastructure and power some times. In most of the cases you will be posted far away from your hometown, so you need to forget about entertainment because there will be no theatres or mall’s in those remote areas.

Where as if you take IPPB posting, As IPPB is going to start their new 650 branches in the main metropolitan cities, definitely you will get posting in metropolitan cities only. You can enjoy your life here compared to IBPS where you are not going to be posted in remote areas.

This is the most important aspect about which most of the people are concerning about. Compared to IBPS PO the IPPB PO will get more salary. The entry level salary for IBPS PO is around 37000 gross in rural areas without perks and HRA. Incase of IPPB PO the basic salary is almost same that is 37000, but the interesting point here is as you are going to be posted in metropolitan cities you will get more allowances and incentives. So the overall salary of an IBPS PO is around 50000k whereas IPPB PO salary is 65000k.

In IBPS PO you need to work under your seniors who will works under their seniors. So you need to face some stress sometimes when you senior asks you to do some scrappy work. If any case if your loan becomes NPA you need to run after and follow the borrowers.

In case of IPPB PO as there are no loans and transactions will be a limit of 1lakh rupee so the work and job stress will be less when compared to IBPS PO.

The main drawback in banks is transferred. There will be no fixed posting in both these banks. Both Postal and IBPS bank employees have to take and accept transfers. They need to pack up all the things and have to move to another location. In case of IPPB anyway the next transfer location also the metropolitan city you will feel better in IPPB.

Promotions will be same in both these banks as both are Probational Officers only. Both IPPB and IBPS promotional aspects will be same and they will promote you based on your hard and smart work. In both these banks, you can become chairman within 15 years. Anyway in IPPB promotional chance will be slightly more compared to IBPS because this is the first time IPPB is launching banks and people will be less in initial stages and with some expanding operations.

Final Verdict

In my point of view as both these exams have same syllabus and same pattern I would prefer IPPB because,

  • It is purely government
  • The salary is more
  • Stress will be less
  • Posting will be in metropolitan cities

How to Prepare for SSC CGL Tier 2 | ENGLISH

SSC CGL Mains, If you are reading this post means you might have cleared CGL tier1. So if you put some more efforts you can easily score good marks in mains exam as well. In this article I am giving the best strategy to score more than 150 marks in TIER 2 English Section.

Smart Way to get 150+ Score in SSC CGL TIER 2 ENGLISH Section

The English section will be going have 200 Questions each carrying one mark. There will be a deduction of 0.25 for every wrong answer. Let me divide you the whole English section into 4 parts for better approach,

The Majority of English Section will have questions related to GRAMMAR. So you need to mainly concentrate on GRAMMAR to get a very good score. The GRAMMAR Section will be of 90 Marks which is 45% of the total marks. So you need to focus much on GRAMMAR. The GRAMMAR part will consist of the following sections,

  1. Spotting Errors – 20 Questions
  2. Sentence Completion/Improvement –  25 Questions
  3. Active / Passive Voice – 20 Questions
  4. Direct / Indirect Speech – 25 Questions

Voices(Active & Passive) and Speeches(Direct & Indirect) were the easiest part in GRAMMAR Section. If you learn all rules of Voices and Speeches and if you practice many numbers of questions you can easily score 45 out of 45 marks even if you are not good in GRAMMAR. There are no specific skills required to answer these questions just practice is good enough. Coming to Spotting Errors and Sentence Improvement only you need to do is Practising Mock tests and following some books. I will provide you the best books that will help you in the Tier 2 GRAMMAR Section.

  1. From Plinth to Paramount by Neetu Singh
  2. A Mirror of Common Errors by Ashok Kumar

An average student can get around 30 out of 45 marks in these two sections. So coming to our strategy,

45 marks in Voices&Speeches + 30 marks in Spotting Errors&Sentence Imp = 75 marks in GRAMMAR

The VOCABULARY Section will be of 30 Marks which will mainly consist of,

  1. Synonyms & Antonyms – 6 to 8 Questions
  2. One Word Substitutions – 10 to 12 Questions
  3. Spelling Check – 3 to 5 Questions
  4. Proverbs – 10 Questions

In VOCABULARY the only thing we need to do is learning WORDS. I will provide you links to two best books to follow for VOCABULARY Section.

  1. BARRON’S 3500 Basic Word List

  2. 1100 – words – you – need -to-know

Start Reading THE HINDU newspaper and learn at least 10 new words per day. Get Mnemonics dictionary app from google play store and learn those new words from the dictionary for better understanding as this dictionary will give you the clear meaning of the words and some example sentences by using that word.

So if you follow all these tips you will get 25 out of 30 Marks in VOCABULARY

     25 marks in VOCABULARY

The Reading Comprehension Section will be of 30 Marks. There will be 6 PASSAGES each consists of 5 marks. There is no Specific Strategy or Formula for this Section, The only thing you need to focus here is Reading HINDU paper and practising Mock Comprehensions. Make Reading as a habit definitely, you will score 25 marks out of 30.

Miscellaneous Section will be of 50 Marks which will consist of only two Sections,

  1. Cloze Test – 25 Questions
  2. Para Jumbles – 25 Questions

Practice as many Mock tests as you can. The main books for Practice Mock papers are TIER 2 Mock Papers by  Paramount Publications.

A Normal student can get 30 out of 50 Marks in this Section.

So a normal student who follows this Strategy will get around 155 Marks in SSC CGL TIER 2 ENGLISH Section.  If you are keen on getting a job in Staff Selection Commission prepare well and follow this Strategy, you will get 10 or 20 more marks in this section.
